Ruby is a sweet little beagle from NC. The owner got tired of the pen in the backyard and wanted to take it down so gave Ruby away. Luckily, a rescue partner stepped in to help get her to a northern rescue. She is sweet and friendly but shy around people. Ruby is about 10 months old and weighs 25 lbs.

Ruby is doing well in her foster home. She loves the other playful dog there and snuggles up to him often. She LOVES toys and empties the toy bin several times a day. She is hesitant with her foster mom and dad but will come up to them for treats and affection if they are sitting or standing still. She is wary of people and what they are going to do so movement frightens her. She does well eating her meals as long as there’s no human moving around nearby.

Ruby is living with cats and leaves them alone. She is house trained and comes in and out from outside on her own. She is a typical southern, under socialized beagle. Ruby needs a fenced in yard with at least one other dog. The more dogs she is around the more relaxed she is so a big pack would be ideal. She is making progress every day; however, she needs a quiet home and a family that will give her the time and space to get comfortable on her own. She will come around, but it needs to be on her timeframe. Patience is key to helping this girl live the Happy Life she deserves.
