Otis is a friendly, affectionate beagle. His owner recently passed and he is looking for another human to love. He is a chubby boy who is in need of a weight loss plan. He has already lost a pound while with the rescue so the scale is headed in the right direction.
He is very well behaved. He walks well on leash, enjoys laying in the sun and the comforts of a cushy bed or a human lap. He is content to hang out by the window people watching. He's a happy boy and is always wagging his tail. He gets along with other dogs but can be cautious with overly rambunctious or aggressive dogs. He would do fine with another calm dog or on his own. He does well with older children. This chubby boy is 8 years old and currently 48 lbs. Despite his size, he can be a little jumpy when excited so a home with smaller children is not recommended.
He is an easy traveler, falling asleep quickly. Otis loved to sleep in the bed with his dad but would often sleep on "his spot" on the couch. In typical beagle fashion, he will alert you to anyone or anything he can see in the distance. He has a rather unique quirk, he goes BERSERK when a trash truck passes! He barks and yells while he watches it go down the street. It’s unclear if he wants to greet the trash men or warn against them LOL
Otis is extremely loving, a little goofy and a great companion. He will travel north as soon as a foster or adopter can be found.
