About: Mikey is an owner surrender from the Midwest. He is about 6-years-old and 24 lbs. He was taken in by a family who saw him on social media. The original owners said they traveled too much and needed to rehome him asap. Mikey likes other dogs, and everything was fine at first, but the resident dog was a resource guarder and had become aggressive towards him. They tried trainers and it did not get better, so they decided it was in Mikey’s best interest to rehome him.
Mikey is comfortable and confident with dogs and humans. He is a curious little guy who loves adventures, on walks or in the car. Overall though, he is pretty chill. He loves his sleep time! He will let you sleep in and enjoys a snuggle session in bed. Mikey has a strong beagle voice, but he keeps it to a minimum, mostly barking at cats, joining in with other dogs, or when he alerts you to something he feels is important. Mikey is a great companion dog and would do fine as an only dog or with a calmer pack.
If you're looking for a meditation partner, Mikey is your guy! He has an adorable habit of lightly gnawing on any blanket nearby in what appears to be a calm self-comforting fashion. Has gone into a very still semi-conscious state multiple times while doing this.
While Mikey is crate trained, he enjoys sleeping with his foster parents in their bed. He is also housetrained, but will likely need to get back to a routine once he settles into a new home.
Mikey is fostering north of Boston.
