This friendly, outgoing boy came to us from a crowded southern shelter where he was overlooked, but he has absolutely blossomed in his foster home. He settled in right away and loves playing with the resident beagle. Although he was estimated to be around 12 years old, his personality tells a different story—he’s bright, bouncy, and full of life. We suspected his teeth made him seem older than he truly is and asked our vet to evaluate his age. Our vet believes he is about 8 years old. His teeth are in very bad shape with many barely hanging on and others missing with the roots exposed. He will be having a dental soon and we expect most if not all teeth to be extracted.

Chippy is sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully playful. He prefers chase and wrestling with another dog over toys, and while he’s generally quiet, he’ll happily “talk” when he’s excited or seeking attention. New situations can make him a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and shows off his goofy, loving nature. After playtime, he transforms into a total couch potato.

This medium‑energy guy enjoys walks, rides well in the car, and thrives with another playful dog in the home. He’s an easy keeper—crate‑trained, well‑behaved when given freedom, and happiest when he’s getting belly rubs… lots of belly rubs. If you pause, he’ll gently tap you with his paw as if to say, “Don’t stop, please.”

Chippy is the perfect blend of fun, gentle, and chill in a pint-sized package at 18 pounds. He’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of snuggles to his forever family.

Chippy will be headed north in September.
