About: Alice aka Allie is a local surrender who's mom found herself in a new living situation and although she loved her deeply, was unable to keep her. Allie is about 7 years old. She was adopted from a southern shelter about 2 years ago and relocated to Massachusetts. Pretty much from the time she was adopted she has been urinating frequently. The frequency has increased over the last two years and Allie now wears a diaper to get through the day without accidents. We suspect Cushing’s Disease as along with the frequent urination she has a distended belly, a severely increased appetite and thirst and a few patches of hair loss.
Update: Alice has completed her testing and she does in fact have Cushing's Disease. She has been placed on medication and we are hopeful she will be feeling better soon. Although she will need to stay on this medication for the rest of her life, her overall prognosis is good. Allie is looking for an adopter willing to continue her treatment. Allie is being fostered south of Boston and is available for visits.
